KBI_Connect_Amb_Occlusion 1.3.0 for Maya (maya script)

DESCRIPTION:

This script create a mib_amb_occlusion node and connect the outValue of the mib_amb_occlusion to the ambientColor or incandescence of the previously selected shader(s).


TESTED ON :

Maya 2009 Unlimited - Linux (Ubuntu 8.10) - 64bits
Maya 2009 Unlimited - Windows Xp SP3 - 32bits

HOW TO USE IT:

How to install the script

Put the script in your user scripts directory :
- Windows: C:/Documents and Settings/USER_NAME/My Documents/maya/2009/scripts/
- Linux: /home/USER_NAME/maya/2009/scripts/

Change USER_NAME by yours and 2009 if you have another version of maya
(exemple: C:/Documents and Settings/J.Doe/My Documents/maya/8.5/scripts/ )

In maya, source the script then put KBI_Connect_Amb_Occlusion; in the command line to load the script.

How to Create and connect the mib_amb_occlusion to one or more shader(s)

Select the shader(s) you want to apply the mib_amb_occlusion node to and press the Create And Connect button.Give a name to the node and voila.Difficult, isnit ?

How to Remove the mib_amb_occlusion created by the script

Hit the Remove button to delete the mib_amb_occlusion node created by the script.
Warning : You cant remove the mib_amb_occlusion created by the script if you close either maya or the script window.
