This macro helps in viewing Z info from Maya by putting the Z data into RGB and A as float and multiplying by -1 to get it into visible range. There is also a scale factor since Maya seems to store it in the range 0 to -1/fardistance, so sometimes you need to tweak this to get it into a viewable range. It can be particularly useful as a viewer script or to flipbook the z info (try shake zfiles.@ -viewmayaz -t 1-50).
