If you're like me you often create models or scenes without naming objects as you go.The problem with other renamers is that you load a bunch of objects but you still need to check to see whats what. I see pCylinder58 in the list and I have to select it in the outliner so I can see which object is pCylinder58.
If only I had a renamer that selected the objects in the nameField as I renamed them so I could quicklysee where and what it is. Well now I do!!
This simple renamer selects objects so they highlight in the viewport as you type & TAB through name fields.This way you can just grab a bunch of objects, call nameIt and start renaming.

This is written in MEL so it should work on any OS And it was written in 2013 but should work in any version Let me know if it doesnt
