Restart Maya.
Type cylinder_calc to execute the tool.
This tool lets you calculate different values of a cylinder. You have to input the edgecount of your cylinder and then choose between facecount or faceshells you want to calculate.
Example:
You have a Cylinder with 24 edges (sites) and you want to know the degree of 8 faces, with the goal to rotate the cylinder by that value.
Then you have to choose faces, set the Faces per Shell-Window to 8 and press calculate. The lower part of the window shows the result.
Degree per Face: The degree every face of your cylinder has.
Degree per 1/2 Face: The degree of every face divided by two. This is helpful if you want to rotate a cylinder so that a straight edge is facing forward.
Degree X-Faces: Based on your Shells, this value show the degree of every shell.
Count Faceshells: If you choose "Faces" it shows the number of your faceshells you get. When choosing "Shells" it just shows the value you typed in Shellcount.
Faces per Shell: If you choose "Faces" it shows that value, otherwise you get the number of faces every faceshell has.
