Now you can render your bones in Maya.  You can also do solid previews or playblasts of just bones.  Calify.mel connects Nurb cones and spheres to bones that precisely match their position and size.  Simply select the root and run the script.  The Nurb Geometry will be connect to the bones and will follow their animation.  The bones can be scaled and moved as well as rotated.  The geometry will also be scaled to initial display of the joint.

This script currently does not work on broken Rigs.
