Sometimes when compositing, you don't want a completely black occlusion, because it makes the final scene look "dirty". The way to make it look more appealing is to invert occlusion, color correct it and invert it again, so you can get dark values but without being completely black. In this shader, i'm multiplying the occlusion with the base_color result, so you can get some sort of "color bounce". With colored_occlusion, you control how much of the color is multiplied. 0 is completely black (ignore base_color) and 1 means completely colored with base_color. Hope it is clear now.. if you still don't get me, tell me and I can post something at the blog :) -

Great shader! I've tested it with 3delight and all works like a charm. I may ask you to add color (brighter and darker) to the occlusion part, just like in mr mia_material. Also you have a nice blog. ..thanks for the update. I can't understand the meaning of colored occlusion (occ_colored), will you plaese explain?
