In many cases it's easier to use light vs surface shader to do accurate camera projection in Maya/Renderman.
To make it work you'll probably have to parent Maya spotlight(s), with this shader attached, to your camera(s) . Maya spotlight attributes like cone angle, etc will be ignored. To exactly match camera fov angle you should pass camera focal length, horizonal and vertical aperture sizes to the shader.
