I designed this for use with 4k DPX files to remove wrinkles in talent, but it will work with any image size with some tweaking. I've set the defaults to be a starting point for broadcast sized images.
A little detail:
1. A high pass is then graded (contrast blackpoint and whitepoint) and the inverse is overlayed onto the original image to cancel out high-frequency detail. This is the main function of the gizmo.
2. A red keyer defines a general skin tone mask and a soften node blurs the luminance channel (in L.A.B color). This is defined as "extra soften" in the gizmo.
3. Highlights are isolated, blurred and added over the top, to restore some volume.
