There is a tutorial video, and an install video, (you will see two reel images, the second is the install turorial, the first the general tutorial).  You will want to watch the install tutorial first if you do not know where your scripts or icon folders are located at.

When you do the install make sure you type "wmaGo",  it is case sensitive.   This install is with Maya 7 and Windows 7.

This is a MEL program that automatically animates Biped, Quadraped, Bird, Centaur and a Spider . . . In this case, all you do is click a button on the shelf, choosing a character type, and it creates the skeleton for the character AND when you press the play button the character walks or runs. The quadraped also hops or gallops. It is all done via MEL, so it does not require any fooling with IK, and it has "Stabilization" (it adds bones that allow the character to move freely without major distortions in the character skin), which minimizes having to paint skin weights.

When created, the bones are in the pose position, and you then attach the character to it, hit Play, and the character walks or runs away. Just like that . . . . if you hit rewind, you can Re-pose the character. You can make the character walk or run in any direction, or create a crowd of characters, all walking or running in different directions.   You can manipulate all the fingers of each hand at once, to open or close the hand or you can control the fingers individually.

I am no longer working on this project, actually I plan on porting it over to Blender, as I now use Blender.   I learned Maya first, and knew it well, but I now prefer Blender, as I think it has a better user interface.  That is just a personal preference, I am not trying to sell you on it, Maya is a good program, and I did very much enjoy working with MEL, because it is a very fun scripting language to work with.
