I created this little MEL tool to speed up my forest creation for my Swamp scene. I took a lot longer to create than it would have if I just made them each from scratch... but I learned some things about MEL in the process.
Any feedback and improvements would be appreciated! Thanks.
Features
Automatic branch lengths
Variable tree height
Variable branch positions
Create multiple trees for export
To Use
Open the Maya Scene, and play with the slider setting until you have a suitable tree shape (You can move the "Curve Control Vertecies" for more customizations), then press "Create Tree" to save that variation. Continue to make trees until you have your "forest" then hit "Export All Trees" to finish.
I have plans to update this with some extra features:
-Branch amount selection
-Finished UVs
-Textures
-Leaves (Maybe)
