I wrote this after trying the rather lackluster StretchyIK.mel script that shipped with Bonus Tools some time ago. My IK stretcher relies on Maya expressions which are faster than Maya math nodes and update interactively and reliably. It has a simple UI that allows the user to select one of two methods : by scale or by translation. The scaling method scales the joints under IK control along the primary axis whilst inversely scaling the remaining axes. This produces a "squash and stretch" effect on the joints and thus any skinned mesh. The amount of squash can be controlled in Channel box by two multipliers. The translation method adds translation values to the primary axis translation of the joints to produce the stretching effect. This is uselful for game engines that do not support scaling.
