I've been having truble skinning my latest character, and I usually hate painting weights... your script was so helpful I decided to register an account here and tell you that it is fantastic... I ahvnt used it enough to know what to improve, but I will keep it in mind as I use it -

I don't usually post comments, but this time I just had to. I had been using Maya for a couple years now, mostly during my spare time. Whenever I would start a charact rigging project I usually stumble a lot during skinning. I get frustrated and because I couldn't work on my projects on a full time basis, I just scrap those that seem impossible. skinning with envelopes solves all this for me. It works perfectly. and BTW: I work on an Apple Powerbook G4, which means Skinning by Envelopes works for Apple. -

Thanks for all comments. It's big pleasure to know that my script do so much to some peoples. You can see another my scripts. There is "paint weight useful window" and "assignSingleWeight". It can be also very useful for skining. https://www.highend3d.com/users/53141.html?t=downloads -

Very nice! I think, its a good alterative method for skining, also it can be a "universal" blank for a similar caracters, especially with a different joits hierarhy. If you make a colorize envelops, like on a picture, that will be better. -
