Generating a rig in world units "meters" fails to complete, or return error

Hi there, this isn't a deal-breaker, as I've found a fairly simple workaround. However, it is interesteting that world units should cause such an issue.

This can be easily recreated by using a the "quadraped" template module...
1) Set world units to "meters"
2) Load "quadraped" module template
3) Generate rig... FAIL

It seems to get stuck when generating a spline module, and just stops in the middle of the process.  No errors or simple abilty to undo is available.  Just have to manually delete the nodes lying around, and try again.

My Current Workaround:
1) Temporarily switch your world units to "centimeters"
2) Generate your rig
3) Switch back to desired world uni

Not sure if it's worth fixing in the code, or just having the code temporarily switch to "centimeters", and restoring the current units after completion.

Hope that helps :)

Cheers,
- Eriks

Yeah, it seems to fail when setting up the ribbon spline objects. Maya definitely has a some weird quirks/behaviors with world scale. Here's one quirk I do know of, that may or may not be related. When using the animate motion path's "uValue": in 'centimeters' mode, this value ranges between 0 and 1, but if you switch to 'meters'... it then ranges from 0 to 0.01. This value should represent a percentage, and should not be affected by world scale. This is definitely a Maya bug. Maybe this or something very similar is causing the RRM issue. Hope that helps!

Hi Eriks, This is really strange, and it only seems to happen in Maya 2015. Maya 2014 is fine. I will try to dig into this and see if I can figure out what could be causing it. Thanks! -Dustin

Sure thing! Strange. What OS are you on btw? I'm using Maya 2014 on a Mac, if that helps you. I'd try 2015, but I don't have it available currently. The workaround works with no issues, so it's not a deal breaker for me at least. Good luck tracking it down :) -eriks

I had this issues happened to me as well in MAya 2012. Would only do the back CO's then then stop. When I saw this comment my scene was setup in feet as soon as I switched it to centimeters RRM worked. Maybe when we hit the Generate Modular Rig, it does a quick check to insure that the scene is setup correctly, cause that was very frustrating, and lost a day of production.

I have fixed this for meters. I will be fixing this for other units in the next update.
