Thanks to this template, you can add/remove items in input1D from the Attribute Editor.
Install: Drop the file "AEplusMinusAverageTemplate.mel" in .../Documents/maya/scripts/ so it is used by all the versions of Maya you have installed. It will override the default procedure that is in the installation directory.
