I know it's an old post, but somebody asked if this script works on Mac. It does, I've just used it to convert a bunch of textures. Before installing the script, edit the py file and take off all the ".exe". I also changed line 51 into this: mc.optionVar(sv=['nMakeTx_makeTxPath', '/Applications/solidangle/mtoa/%s/bin' % self.mayaVersion]) and it will work on mac. I tested it with Maya 2018 on MacOS High Sierra. -

Grazie Luca! Davvero uno script essenziale! Specialmente considerato il fatto che il Tx Manager di Arnold da spesso errori. -

Hi Chris, If you get that error it means that the script was not able to write the file to disk. Please check if you have the permission to write to the folder or enough space on the disk! -

hi, luca what can i do if i encounter "[ERROR] unable to write the following files:" -
Luca Fiorentini said over 11 years ago:
I have tried the script on Maya2014 and everything works fine for me. I have also checked and discovered that it doesn't matter if makeTx.exe is capitalized or not. It work also with mAkEtX.exe or whatever. About this error: Error: TypeError: file C:/Users/User/Documents/maya/2014-x64/scripts\nMakeTx.py line 184: 'NoneType' object has no attribute '__getitem__' # I was able to reproduce it only by pressing 'cancel' on the browser button. I have fixed it now but it should not affect you in any way cause you were canceling the operation. Are you sure that you are setting the path correctly? Do you have any space or weird character in your path (both for the makeTx.exe and for your textures)?
