I amended it to get around the naming issue. Maybe this is something you want to include in a future release?

//Add it to the beginning of the name of the groups,locators, constraints
global proc mgDuplicate()
{
// defaults and variables
global int $scriptCount;
string $attrPrefix = "loop" + $scriptCount + "_mg"; // global prefix
...
//increment by 1 at the end of the proc
$scriptCount+=1;
}
That will give you groups called:
loop0_mgDuplicateMain_Gr
loop1_mgDuplicateMain_Gr
loop2_mgDuplicateMain_Gr
etc...
Seems to work fine for me!
