Install:
Place the file in one of your active autodesk/<version>/scripts/ folders. For Mac, this is [/Users/Shared/Autodesk/maya/<version>/scripts]. Then run BF_RandomizeSelection from the command line. You can also drag this command to the shelf. Or if you don't want to keep the script available, just copy the source to the script editor and run.
Usage:
From the current selection, leaves only a random percentage of objects selected. Please note that the percentage is not exact, but an extent of randomness, and vill vary each time the function is run.
Notes: Credit and thanks to Dan Moreno (danimor3k@yahoo.com.br) for the first version of this script. Mine is mostly an optimization for larger datasets.
