since maya did make some changes in v 6 on how to connect multi attribs and the next available is no longer available you sould run:
connectAttr -f snow1.outColorR plusMinusAverage1.input1D[0];
connectAttr -f marble1.outColorR plusMinusAverage1.input1D[1];
to fix the errors.
