It's wonderful gift for Maya scriptwriters. Object oriented program in Maya means PyMel. Am waiting for next version of PyMel as integrated part of Maya. Help should be improved with more examples. Search option should be provided in Help. Subbu -

Seems to be tuned for programmers and people who know how to write Python, but they seem to be making great progress in making it more accessible -- and in the meantime this feels like a can-opener to Maya's often-tight lid. I'm excited. -

it's good if you're using pymel to address objects created or listed by pymel, in order to use the object-oriented design of pymel, you must ensure that the objects that you are working with are instances of pymel classes--Not always cool. It would be nice to be able to address any object in maya. i.e., this would be a great command: ballA.tx >> ballB.sx even if the balls were created by modelers. -

Finally. Now a real reason to switch over to Python in Maya. Let's see what we can do about getting Autodesk to include this in their next release! -

A gift to humanity, lol. It converts mel to python, in my tests so far, flawlessly. I hope to learn python better to take more advantage of the other features.
