What's the status of this plug-in? Is it being maintained at all - the last version was for Maya 2008, and it doesn't work with the 2009 and 2010 versions. Thanks.

Dont know the status of this plugin but I had the same problem. I found a workaround - a bit kludgy but I think its the best option right now.
1. Export from Maya to an .obj file
2. Download the trial version of 3DPaintBrush (full version is only $99) https://www.3dpaintbrush.com/content/featurelist.aspx
3. Open the .obj in 3d Paint Brush and then export as XAML.
Copy-paste the outputted XAML code ( to ) into a new visual studio WPF application within the "grid" field. This worked for me - dont know if quality is great but still a viable (and relatively) cheap solution.
