Character Im doing for a longer animation Im working on.
I used Xsi foundation to create the model, I do this because I love the speed of Xsi, especially when dealing with high poly subd surfaces. I then take it into 3dsmax for shading, rigging, cloth and hair (although he only got eyelashes at the moment..). The reason why I do this is because max is great for a "one man" job like this. Rigging, cloth and hair can be done very quickly, yet you can achieve very good results too. I also wanted to use the Miss shaders with mentalray and when I started this XSI5 was not yet released.
Since this is for more than just an image, everything is setup properly with cloth simulation, corrective morphs for the body and so on.
Displacement and textures were done in zbrush and photoshop.
Here are some "behind the scenes" images:

Id really like to see what went into this image. Can you post a screen of the wireframe? Also what software did you use for what?

Oops, can you just click on "edit" on your image and put that information in the description? We are killing the forum and going with this new comment area here :) Thanks! Will

I'm new at 3d work. This is truly amazing and actually gave me an idea for a concept picture for a series a friend and I are planning. For the base of this, did you use nurbs, polygons, or subdivs? Which do you suggest for this kind of work?
