Lazy Afternoon: Looking for Sleepyhead
For this image, we aimed for an optimized photo-realistic 2d to 3d translation/interpretation based on famous Japanese animation. Not too real but not too fake looking either but still keeping the delightful essence of the original animation.
We welcome your comments on this project so that we could apply your advice for we will be coming up with a tutorial for this one. We treat this as a process for sharing to the CG community and set the standard on what to do and how to do in the field of photorealistic CG.

This is a traditional japanese kitchen that was based on family Kusakabe's kitchen in the movie My Neighbor Totoro.
We added more things and details to make the scene more lively.
Done in 3ds Max, rendered with V-ray and post-processed in Photoshop.
