Lamborghini Murcielago
The idea for this model came from a training series from 3dBuzz. I decided to tackle this project myself without the video aid and went on a modeling rage for several weeks. I finished the exterior first, then continued with the cockpit and finally modeled the engine and the underside of the car as well. This project was a lot of fun. I learned a lot about different polymodeling techniques and managed to improve my own workflow. In retrospect the amount of detail was probably a bit of overkill, but I am quite happy with the end result. Aside from a few Photoshop touch ups everything was done in Maya. 98% percent of the beauty renders were carried through the shaders; very little texturing was done for this project. All the lighting was done using Maya Software; no Mental Ray and or Raytracing were used. The car paint was created through a custom shader network that could be rendered with Maya Software.
