Dragon Editor's Pick
this image is so old that I don't remember much about it..... but, I remember I modeled and rendered it in Lightwave and added some minor PP touchups in Photoshop.
I also remember that I used a free shader called TB_FakeSkin to get the soft look. it made these images render really really fast.. just a few seconds/frame here!

Horny Dog Editor's Pick
this image was created a looong time back, sometime around may 2004!! it was made for a collaborative challenge over at cgtalk named Evolution.
it was about having 1 designer and one 3d artist get together and create a finished 3d-model. the first price was to have it printed as a maquette at 3darttopart..... and we WON!!! yippaaaah!
for more indepth info you can check out the old thread here:

sadly, as it was wuite long ago I believe alot of links are broken :(
here's how the finished maquette ended up looking like:
this maquette is meant to be in color, and I'll do it one day.. but right now I don't have the colors to do so.. ;)

Frog Fiesta Editor's Pick
this image started out as a mini-challenge(duel) between a friend and me over at cgtalk back in february 2005. the theme was "after the rain". you can find the challenge thread here:

after this challenge alot of other mini-challenges popped up. I had a few more goes at it with other opponents/friends. it's a very very good way of boosting your motivation !
huh hum, as a sidenote. I won the challenge becuase my friend is a lazy fart who never finished...... (don't tell him I wrote this if u know who he is.. ;) )
