I tried it in a scene I have made with pfx plants and it works perfectly on everything but the pfx. I am using maya 2011 though so perhaps it only works on the pfx in older versions. I don't know if its even possible to get a dof with pfx because they are a post effect in maya, but hopefully there is a way. I have attached an image of my scene using your script. Thanks.
