Q/A

spPaint3dTempGroup

Date:10/29/2014
Submitted by: rickmf rickmf
Whenever I use the 'place' function, it generates a "spPaint3dTempGroup" for the object, instead of just a duplicate/ instance with the objects name.

Is this by design? When 'painting' the naming stays consitent (obect1, object2, etc). I am using maya2015 fyi.

Anyway to avoid this issue?

Hi there, it seems that this is a very late reply, but to others who are viewing this post - yes this is by design.
Apparently when you use the Place mode, it will creates individual groupings. This can be disabled in the code, but by doing so, you may need to edit other code portions too
