Hi, First of all this is a wonderful script, many thanks for sharing it as i can see it being a real time-saver(by the way it also works fine in 2011). However I think there a few things which could improve it even more so! So, with the best intentions here is my wish-list/requests: 1) There should be a "Load Ground Plane" button like the "Load Source Objects" button 2) "Random scale" to be a bit more accurate with decimal points? (Not sure if possible as they are float values) But the biggest improvement, is it possible to ignore the source object's transforms? And base their placement by their pivot points instead? A lot of props and source objects have frozen transforms and do not assign properly because of this. Even when drawing a primitive then using this script they will often be placed incorrectly. However using placement based on pivot points, if a prop that has any kind of transforms, yet it's pivot point is based on the centre below the prop, then theoretically it would work kind of like this script (basically doesn't matter where the source object is in the scene, it will always be assigned correctly): http://www.creativecrash.com/maya/downloads/scripts-plugins/c/sppaint3d I hope this makes sense. Thanks again!

Great script, the texture based placement is really cool. I'd really like to see the ability to have the instances conform to the surface normals of the ground plane object, which is almost always what I want in a situation like this.

I love the script. Thanks a lot. I would realllly like to have a random seed value though. I am getting the same "randomization" both times I run the script and the 2 variations of rocks I have are now stacked on top of each other.

align objects to surface normals would be awesome
