Q/A

re-build rig and keeping the skin weight

Date:02/16/2018
Submitted by: naach0 naach0
Hello, i wanna know if i can re adjust the proxies and re build the rig but keeping the skin weight?

Maybe I can duplicate the mesh and build another rig, then copy&paste the skin weight. im going to look at that option, but maybe there is another way that im missing. what do you think?

There is a chance to put this option in some future version? I really love this script, and really apreciate your work and support Dustin, well done sir ! Cheers

great question - I would also be keen on getting a good re-binding workflow

The best option is to use the Deform>Export Weights, which saves the weights to a data file. Or, if your uv's are really laid out really well and do not overlap, you can use Skin>Export Weight Maps.

Once you have saved your weights, you can rebuild your rig, bind your mesh to the rig, then load the weights back on.
