Q/A

Cannot load saved proxy

Date:06/30/2014
Submitted by: art_tek art_tek
Loading a saved proxy results in this error message:

// Error: line 0: No object matches name: RRA_MAIN

The first line of the proxy.ma script is:
scale -a 18.5 18.5 18.5 RRA_MAIN;

It seems there needs to be a proxy named RRA_MAIN before I can load the proxy.
Is this correct?

Thanks!

    Click the 'create proxies' button then you can load your saved proxy onto it.

    I created a new proxy and then loaded the saved proxy. The video tutorial did not mention this step so it was a surprise.

    This tutorial is a bit old but it does explain how the saving transforms and saving proxies works. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-dXW6ALpQ4&feature=youtu.be&t=640 -Dustin

    Yes, that's correct. You need to have a proxy rig to load transforms on to. If you notice, the option is to "Save/Load Proxy transforms". What this means is you can save the positions of the proxies from one rig and load it on to another. Hope that makes sense :) -Dustin
