Hi Stanley, I am working on the issues you are having currently. I believe the problem you are having with the curve elbows is that the joints are not properly selecting when you are skinning. If you already have your character set up, copy and paste the following into the script editor: if (`objExists lShoulderCurveJ`) { select lShoulderCurveJ lLowerArmCurveJ1 lLowerArmCurveJ2 lLowerArmCurveJ3 lElbowCurveJ lUpperArmCurveJ1 lUpperArmCurveJ2 lUpperArmCurveJ3 rShoulderCurveJ rLowerArmCurveJ1 rLowerArmCurveJ2 rLowerArmCurveJ3 rElbowCurveJ rUpperArmCurveJ1 rUpperArmCurveJ2 rUpperArmCurveJ3; } if (`objExists lHipCurveJ`) { select lLowerLegCurveJ1 lLowerLegCurveJ2 lLowerLegCurveJ3 lKneeCurveJ lUpperLegCurveJ1 lUpperLegCurveJ2 lUpperLegCurveJ3 lHipCurveJ rLowerLegCurveJ1 rLowerLegCurveJ2 rLowerLegCurveJ3 rKneeCurveJ rUpperLegCurveJ1 rUpperLegCurveJ2 rUpperLegCurveJ3 rHipCurveJ; } Then select your character, and go Skin>Edit Smooth Skin>Add Influence. The second problem you are having with creating the geometry, could you please try it again, and let me know if you get any errors? This will help me isolate the problem you are having. I am fixing a couple other issues currently, so I will be submitting an update with this fix and a few other enhancements within the next couple days. Thank you for your patience and your assistance in fixing this. Dustin

Hi Stanley, I have now fixed the rapid mesh so it works in maya 2008. Thanks for finding that! Dustin

sorry this is inserted as a comment, can't seem to see how to create a seperate report... I’m using using Maya 2008. When attempting to create the character rig, I was getting the following error message // Warning: Cycle on 'addDoubleLinear1.output' may not evaluate as expected. (Use 'cycleCheck -e off' to disable this warning.) It looked as though the script had stopped part of the way through - Leg and arm controls have not been generated, clusters etc were still visible, and the nodes in the outliner did not have a common parent. After experimentation I was able to get round this by exporting the dummy hierarchy as a Maya binary file, importing it into a fresh file, created the rig, then imported my mesh after the rig had been created. Although I have a work round, finding it took time, its extra hassle and I’d be curious to know why this is happening?

Hi Calum, I am not sure what is causing that, but it sounds to me like there was something in your scene that was causing the problem. My script is designed to work around anything that could be in the scene, but it looks like that was not the case for you. Would you be willing to send me your original file so I can try and pinpoint the issue? Thanks! And I apologize for the inconvenience. Dustin
