Hey,

I dont know if it's a bug or wasnt intended to be used but when I try to use Nightshade as a docked Panel, it doesnt let me. It just give me a regular perspective panel. I'm on Maya 2016 ext 2 but I tried on Extension 1 and back in Maya 2012 without success. It wasnt a big deal before but I just got a bigger screen and docking would have been usefull.

Hello, This is more of a lack of feature than a bug. I've tried looking into this before and didn't move forward with it due to the nature of the panel elements in Maya. For starters, you cannot parent a window inside a panel - which is a problem in NSUV where the actual panel -UI is an element in the middle of the UI-hierarchy (in the native editor it's: Window > Panel > Menu and topbar). The second problem is that panels spawn with a menu bar - which even if not populated by anything (by the coder) still gets a default menuItem called "Panels". This would result in the menubar inside NSUV appearing above the manipulator - which just looks ugly. I could delete that ofc - in fact I'm already doing it since it's a hardcoded name (by Autodesk) via pm.deleteUI("Panels", menu=True) - however even a fully unpopulated menu like this still has vertical space (I think? I need to investigate). I've done a major restructuring of the UI in NSUV 2.1 which will allow me to investigate this further though, so I'm not going to say that this is impossible to do - most likely it is. But right now I'm too focused on shipping said version out and also do a major update to Nightshade Materializer so I do not know when I can look at this. I would like this feature in the future though - but don't hold your breath waiting for it. /Martin
