I'm sorry to hear that, anyway the process to remove May9 is very simple:
1) Close Maya
2) Remove or rename actual 2016 preference folder, based on your OS:
- Windows:
\Users\"your username"\Documents\maya\
- OS X:
/Users/"your username"/Library/Preferences/Autodesk/maya/
- Linux:
~"your username"/maya/
3) Restart Maya
That's it.
