I downloaded your script but was having trouble getting it to run. It kept popping and error stating "maya" is not defined. I eventually solved it on my end by adding "import maya.mel as mel" to the start of the script, and removing "maya." from all instances of "maya.mel" and "maya.cmds" at the beginning of the script. I'm not sure if other people are having this issue.
Sorry, it took me 2 years to get back to you! I'll check that out but I've used it for a couple of years on several different computers with different versions of Maya and have not run into that.
