Andy rig turns metallic in Mental Ray render.

Greetings, I currently have a problem which I can't seem to find a solution to. I'm a fairly new user of Maya as I used 3ds Max prior to starting my bachelor at a university in Australia, but I'm working on a lip sync assignment at the moment and I've created the scene where the events will unfold, however, I can not seem to get the shading to work completely well.
I've decided on using the Andy rig as I find that superior in the looks and facial expressions, but when I use mental ray the entire character rig turns metallic in the render. 

I tried to render it out in mental ray outside of the scene as well, but same problem. I've tried searching the web for it, but no luck unfortunatly.

Hope anyone here has any experience with the Andy rig and Mental ray and who is willing to help me.

    It's the default one I'm guessing, I haven't touched any of the textures or shaders for the rig. All I did was to link them up to their new destination (folder).

    thats it. if you want to render it in mr, you need to get rid of the layered shader and link all the textures to the new shader, what version of maya are you using?

    Hmm, I'm fairly new to maya so I'm not sure I know how to do that :p I'm using Maya 2009 64-bit. Is there any guide on how to do this on the web? :o Thanks for the quick answers btw!
