While rendering single frames is fine, batch render does not function with the original of this file. Get the message Rendering Completed despite no image files being created. Importing the file into a new project seems to work OK though.

Additionally, various rendering attributes are locked, although it is possible to unlock them by right-clicking them in the Render Settings window.

Using Maya 2011 on a Mac.
