This image is based on a sculpture that has been an inspiration to me for many years, there were a number of reasons why I wanted to re-create this work. One is the challenge of the forms and understanding more about this sculpture and Futursim as an art movement.
In 1913 the work was made in plaster, only being cast in Bronze in the 1930's and 1940's long after the artists death.
It is hard to find images of the orginal in white/plaster. I've added a similar white coloured version for this reason, as it was closer to the orginal it may be of interest.
It is nice to see someone else inspired by Boccioni's work. This piece had the same effect on me from the first time I studied it in school years ago. It is a real pleasure to see someone attempt to reproduce it in 3d, and who also appreciates it as much as I have. Kudos to you.
