In 8.5 I could run this:
  renderLayerButton -q -name layer1;
and it would return:
 // layer1 //

In 2010 I get this error:
 // Error: line 1: Object not found: layer1.

Is there some trick to using renderLayerButton in 2010?

It should still work in your own code, but the layer editor now uses treeView.
